Figure 1
New areas of research for our group involve the application of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) to forensic trace analysis and the development of selective sampling materials. We are examining the discriminating power of LIBS in the analysis of various forms forensic trace evidence, with an initial focus on glass analysis. Our research into the design of selective sampling materials through molecular imprinting is driven by the need to reduce sample workup times in forensic cases.
